Doctor of Science from the University of Antioquia; Master in Ecology, Management and Conservation of Wild Fauna from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Biologist from the National University of Colombia. Senior Researcher at MinCiencias. Professor at the University of Antioquia. She linked to the Institute of Biology of the University in 2000. She has served as President of the Colombian Association of Ichthyologists-Acictios and led, from the University of Antioquia, research with the public and private sectors to resolve environmental conflicts generated by the mining-energy industry. He was part of the team that supported the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development in the construction of the regulations that regulate the collection of biodiversity without commercial purposes and the administration of Biological Collections and, together with the Vice-rectory for Research of the U of A, managed the approval of the framework permit for the collection of non-profit biodiversity.
