‘Bogotá, My City, My Home’continues to strengthen its commitment to smart tourism. This strategy, led by the Bogotá Tourism Institute, connects mobility, technology, and tourism promotion to enhance the experience of visitors to the city.

Through an unprecedented partnership, the official tourism platform Visit Bogotá is now integrated across three key fronts:

TransMilenio bus system, which now features interactive tourist maps with geolocation at key stations, making it easier for visitors to access routes, nearby attractions, and services in real time.

Official taxis from El Dorado International Airport, which provide QR-coded information cards linking to Visit Bogotá, with content on safety, mobility, and practical guidance.
Mobility tech platforms, such as Uber and Taxis Libres, which actively promote Visit Bogotá through their digital channels and help users connect with the city’s tourism offerings.
“This is a key step in our vision for the city: Bogotá moves, connects, and welcomes tourists with tech-driven tools that enhance their experience from the moment they arrive,” said María Fernanda Ortiz, General Manager of TransMilenio.

Andrés Santamaría, Director of the Bogotá Tourism Institute, added: “Every ride through Bogotá is now an opportunity to discover it. We are integrating the city, technology, and tourism to create a more informed, seamless, and safe experience for travelers. This strategy not only changes how we access tourism information, but also strengthens Bogotá’s position as a competitive, connected destination ready to welcome the world.”

From the private sector, Uber has joined the effort, incorporating tools to promote tourism and provide reliable information access.

“This partnership is key for the evolution of shared mobility in Bogotá and for boosting tourism and its economic impact. The Uber app offers several mobility solutions in the city, including Uber Taxi through our partnership with TaxExpress—which has been a great success,” said Ángela Mendoza, General Manager of Uber Colombia.

This strategy reflects Bogotá’s commitment to becoming a competitive, innovative, and connected tourist destination. It marks a significant step forward in boosting use of the Visit Bogotá platform and positioning the city as a smart tourism hub, where inter-institutional and technological collaboration creates a comprehensive system for accessing tourism information across all modes of transportation—improving the visitor experience from arrival.
